2013 NFL Draft: No Way is Arkansas Razorbacks QB Tyler Wilson Worthy of First-Round Pick

The NFL Combine 2013 is quickly approaching as players will look to impress scouts in order to improve their stock for the 2013 NFL Draft in April. While nobody knows what to expect early on from this year’s class when it comes to quarterbacks, there is one player that believes he’s worthy of being selected in the first round of the draft–Arkansas Razorbacks quarterback Tyler Wilson.

The argument can be made that Wilson could have been one of the top picks if he had entered the draft last year, but the quarterback decided to return for his senior season as the Razorbacks were expected to compete for the National Championship–which obviously didn’t last long. Wilson has a chance of being selected in the mid rounds at most at this point in the offseason, but returning for his senior season may have hurt his draft stock more than he would have liked it to.

When looking at his arm strength, there’s no question Wilson may be the best in this year’s class, but there’s other areas that still need improvement if any team is going to consider selecting him in the first round of this year’s draft. Unless he manages a way to blow away scouts over the next couple of months during workouts, the chances of Wilson jumping up to the first round seem awfully slim.

Then again, anything is possible when it comes to the NFL–so it should be interesting to see how Wilson performs for scouts leading up to the draft.
