Toronto Raptors' Mascot Gives Flowers to Rachel McAdams

There are a lot of celebrities who attend NBA games, with most of them being actors at Los Angeles Lakers games. You’ll also see some in court side seats watching the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, but the Toronto Raptors? This is a first. Actress Rachel McAdams was sitting court side at a Raptors game ( surprisingly without a bag over her head) and was obviously spotted very quickly. Not only that, but she was approached by the Raptors’ mascot, her presented her with a bouquet of red roses and an awkward kiss on the cheek. Creepy? Oh yeah.

First of all, the Raptors’ mascot looks like Barney with a set of sharp, false teeth. If you take off his Raptors gear, he looks just like the purple dinosaur that kids grow up watching, except his smile is full of sharp teeth instead of the human-like choppers that Barney has. So even though McAdams smiled politely, her initial reaction was priceless and exactly what you would expect: she was creeped out and horrified at the same time.

Again, why McAdams was at a Raptors game in the first place is a mystery. Sure, she’s from Canada, but she’s a popular actress, so she should be at a Lakers game, right? It’s actually refreshing to see a star rooting for a team that’s not all about the limelight. Of course, the Raptors aren’t exactly all about winning these days, either, but that’s another Rant.
