Bubble Watch: In or Out? What's the Call For Alabama, Virginia and LaSalle?

The Explorers missed a real opportunity on Friday afternoon, losing to Butler in the Atlantic 10 quarterfinal round. At the same time, another conference rival in UMass got a crucial win over Temple to remain in the hunt for a tournament bid in their own right. LaSalle may have done enough already to warrant a berth within the NCAA Tournament, but that fate remains in the hands of the committee.

As of now however, the LaSalle Explorers are IN

Well, things could not have gone worse for Virginia on Friday. They were basically manhandled by North Carolina State in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament, a look that they certainly wanted to avoid just days before the bracket is released. The Cavaliers could’ve made a move on their bubble potential and even despite the loss to the Wolfpack on Friday; the door is not yet completely closed. It’s wait and see time for the Virginia though, that’s for sure.

As of now however, the Virginia Cavaliers are OUT

The Crimson Tide faced a crucial test against Tennessee on Friday afternoon as part of the quarterfinal round of the SEC Tournament. Some were referring to this game as a potential “play-in” game between two squads that were virtually in the same position heading into the final few days prior to Selection Sunday. Well, the Crimson Tide were victorious on Friday, moving forth into the SEC Tournament semifinal round. One more win would be huge for Alabama because even after Friday’s win, the improvement was not all too drastic.

As of now however, the Alabama Crimson Tide are IN
