The stage is set for the Pac-12 title game and west coast fans should get to see a pretty good match-up from two of the league’s top squads.
The Bruins are virtually clicking at the right time it seems, locking up a regular season title late last week and now pressing forward to the conference title game. A tournament championship could be a huge boost for head coach Ben Howland and the potential that this UCLA squad has in the NCAA Tournament.
The star power of this young UCLA squad could be destined to put on a show in the Big Dance, if they can get hot and stay hot, but once again that could rely on taking care of business within the Pac-12 championship game on Saturday night.
As for the Ducks however, a well-balanced attack makes them a tough squad to match-up against. A solid front court paces the way, but this team has more than enough players who are capable of balancing their offensive attack across the board.
These two teams met only once during the regular season, with Oregon taking care of UCLA on the road at Pauley Pavilion. It was certainly an impressive win for the Ducks, but don’t expect Howland and the Bruins to not be ready with adjustments in this game.
West coast basketball has had its resurgence this season and this Pac-12 title game should certainly be one that college basketball fans across the country do not want to miss.
