On Thursday night, Ohio State did it again.
This time however, it was Buckeyes’ sophomore LaQuinton Ross. After advancing into the Sweet 16 on a game-winning, buzzer-beating three-pointer by Aaron Craft, Ross followed suit with an encore shot of his own.
Wichita State continues to boast a nice balance across the board from the athletic Cleanthony Early to the bruiser down low in Carl Hall; the Shockers are simply one win away from making the Final Four. Freshman sharpshooter Ron Baker could certainly be key in this one, but the point guard match-up is the one to keep an eye on.
Craft will square up against Wichita State’s Malcolm Armstead and it’ll be interesting to see if one of them can build an offensive advantage in this one.
Deshaun Thomas will need to shine for the Buckeyes, but that comes as no surprise. Ohio State danced their way to the Final Four a season ago and now they have the opportunity to do it again here in 2013.
The Buckeyes have had back-to-back close calls, but that’s normally what teams destined to make a run must deal with. Can Ohio State get back to the Final Four or will 9th-seeded Wichita State be heading to Atlanta next weekend?
