It’s the big one. The Masters. It’s the Super Bowl of golf and we’ve got all the No. 1 seeds ready for the Big Dance. Can you tell we’ve been mad for the entire month of March?
Tiger Woods is finally back and ready to reclaim his throne while young hot shot Rory McIlroy is ready to start his reign early. But look out for the scrappy mid-majors like Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson and definitely keep an eye on Cinderella hopefuls Justin Rose and Guan Tianlang. Wait, who?!
Tianlang is a 14-year-old Chinese golfer who will be the youngest player ever to compete at the Masters. As an amateur, he got an automatic bid for the Masters by winning the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in 2012. Woods played a round with the youngster and said he’s the real deal.
Tiger was definitely impressed with Tianlang, who is out to crash the party at Augusta. So how do things stack up? Tiger tees off at 10:45 a.m. Eastern Time and he’s playing with Luke Donald and Scott Piercy. The youngster will get things going half an hour later with Ben Crenshaw and Matteo Manassero. Woods is the favorite, but to say he’s got a target on his back is an understatement. So what do you think? Can Tianlang win it? What about another young stud? Comment below and let us know!
