2013 NFL Draft Player Prospect Profile: Sylvester Williams

For a player standing at 6’3″ and possesses great strength, Sylvester Williams of North Carolina has the perfect body type to be successful at the NFL level and there’s a reason why he’s being considered a first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Not only does he have strong hands that will make it difficult for any opponent to cover, but Williams has been praised for his explosive burst off the snap as well.

Williams has always been an effective pass rusher, but if he’s going to have any success at the NFL level–he’s going to need to figure out a way to become more consistent. Keep in mind that a few years ago, there was no telling whether Williams would even play football as a career–so teams may be extra cautious with that factor as well.

Either way, the numbers Williams displayed during his time at North Carolina show are enough to prove just how much potential he has in the pros. If he can figure out a way to stay 100 percent focused on football and keep his work ethic up at a high level–there’s no reason why Williams shouldn’t be successful in the NFL.

The potential is certainly there for Williams to succeed at the high level and it will be interesting to see whether or not he falls in the first round. If not, there’s still plenty of potential for Williams to be picked up in the second round at the latest.
