2013 NFL Draft Player Prospect Profile: Eric Reid

The NFL has seen plenty of talented safeties make the transition from the college level to the pro level over the last couple of years and LSU‘s Eric Reid deserves to be ranked up there with the rest of them following an impressive career with the Tigers.

Over the last couple of years, LSU has always seemed to be in the hunt as national title contenders and one of the main reasons why has been because of their steller defense. One of the main reasons why they’ve managed to be so successful over the last couple of years is because of great playmakers like Reid and if he can live up to the hype–there’s no question he can make an impact during his rookie season.

Reid has great frame to make it as a safety at the NFL level and has been praised for his physical-style of play on the football field, but he still has a few areas in need of improvement as well. As long as he can work on his coverage skills and not jump the gun too early on trying to cut off routes of receivers, Reid could have a bright future ahead of him in the NFL.

Even if he does have a few areas in need of improvement, Reid is certainly worth the risk for any team in need of a solid defender heading into the 2013 season–so it will be interesting to see where he lands in the draft.
