2013 NFL Draft Player Prospect Profile: Kevin Minter
There are numerous teams that would love to add a solid linebacker for the 2013 season and LSU‘s Kevin Minter is the perfect player to take a risk on in the late first round or even early second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Just look at everything Minter accomplished as a member of the Tigers and if he can figure out a way to make a smooth transition to the pros–the sky could be the limit for him during his rookie season.
This year’s draft class isn’t filled with as many talented linebackers that stand out from the rest and if there are teams in desperate need of adding a linebacker for next season–chances are they’ll have their eyes set on a player like Minter in the first two rounds.
Minter certainly has the skills to make it in the pros as he’s been praised for his hand usage and ability to get around blockers. Not to mention Minter may have an extra advantage over other defenders from this year’s class when considering the fact that he played in arguably the most difficult conference college football has to offer in the SEC.
Unfortunately though, there’s been plenty of reason for concern over Minter and how physical he is against defenders–so he’ll certainly need to work on that to be successful in the NFL. If anything, his numbers from the 2012 season alone are the perfect example of why teams shouldn’t be worried about drafting him.
