This year’s draft class may not be filled with quarterbacks guaranteed to go in the top five, but there’s certainly plenty of potential when it comes to players possibly becoming franchise stars down the road. As for Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib, the potential is certainly there for him at the NFL level, but he still has a long way to go when it comes to proving himself as one of the top quarterbacks from the 2013 NFL Draft.
Nassib has great velocity and a quick release in his throws that could make him successful at the NFL level, but his turnovers may be a reason for concern in the pros. As long as he can learn to make better decisions with some of his passes, Nassib will certainly have the potential in the pros and it will be interesting to see which team decides to take a risk on him next season.
Early indications point to Nassib being selected in the second round, but there’s always that small chance he could jump up and be selected in the first round. Still, the argument can be made there are plenty of other quarterbacks that will most likely be selected before him in the draft.
The potential is certainly there–so it will be interesting to see where he lands once the draft gets under way this week. Nassib may think he’s first-round material, but he still has a lot to prove before he can begin making those types of statements.
