The Kentucky Wildcats‘ title defense did not go according to plan in 2012-13 and neither did the freshman campaign for NBA prospect, Nerlens Noel. The 6-foot-11 center was finally starting to come into his own when a season-ending torn ACL cut his freshman year short.

Noel missed the remainder of the year, but his draft stock remained intact.

Noel should not only here his name called within the top five this upcoming June, but the Kentucky freshman could very well be the No. 1 overall selection at this point. Noel however, will not get the opportunity to prove himself in pre-draft workouts as he continues to recover from the ACL injury. In fact, there are not even any guarantees that Noel will be ready for the start of the 2013-14 NBA regular season.

With that being said however, Noel’s potential is still on another level and it’s been that way ever since he first arrived in Lexington.
