Tiger Watch For 2013 PGA Players Championship
It has been a long time since Tiger Woods last won the Players Championship, but it appears the number one golfer in the land is ready to party like it’s 2001 when play begins this weekend at TPC Sawgrass. Woods is riding a great hot streak and after a fourth place finish in last month’s Masters, the odds are heavily in Tiger’s favor — early betting has Woods enjoying a huge favorite with 7-1 odds.
In order for Woods to reel in his second Player Championship trophy he will have to play great golf considering all of the top 30 golfers will be in action this weekend. Competing against great competition should bring the best out of Tiger, however only five golfers in the history of the event have won it more than once.
The circus that used to accompany Tiger has since died down, yet the paparazzi will still be out this weekend if Lindsey Vonn decides to make the trip down to the gorgeous Ponte Vedra, Florida. Vonn and Woods were an object at the Met Gala in New York on Monday, so the couple will more than likely be in the tabloids twice in one week and not for anything crazy — I wonder how long that will last?
2013 has been good to Tiger both on and off the course considering his love life appears stable and he has placed fourth or better in five of the eight tournaments. The good luck could definitely keep coming Wood’s way, however keep an eye on last years returning champion Matt Kuchar who will be teeing off with Tiger come Thursday.
