2013 NBA Draft Prospect Profile Video: Brandon Davies, Power Forward (BYU)

The name Brandon Davies was a popular one back in 2011 when the 6-foot-9 power forward was suspended for a violation of the school’s conduct code. BYU was led by a man named Jimmer Fredette at the time and following Davies’ suspension, the Cougars’ NCAA Tournament expectations that year took a major hit. Well, Davies has moved forward from that unfortunate scenario and now he has himself in line to potentially hear his name called within the 2013 NBA Draft.

Davies has put back-to-back solid seasons together since 2011, but this past year was by far his best. Davies averaged 17.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in 2012-13 and just last month has was described as one of the standout performers at the Portsmouth Invitational. At 6-foot-9, Davies sits on the fence in determining whether or not he can play the center or the power forward position at the professional level. His skill set is heavily reliant on him playing at the rim, but he does have the physicality and toughness to make up for his lack of height inside.
