2013 NBA Draft Prospect Profile Video: Grant Jerrett, Arizona (PF)
After one season at the University of Arizona, 6-foot-10 freshman power forward Grant Jerrett has made himself eligible for the 2013 NBA Draft. Jerrett didn’t show the utmost hesitation in his decision, entering his name 11 days before the deadline for the NBA’s early entry. However, that doesn’t mean that Jerrett’s call wasn’t surprising — in fact, it was downright shocking.
Jerrett averaged 5.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in 17 minutes of action per game this past season, his first — and now only — at the collegiate level. Jerrett has great size at 6-foot-10, 240 lbs., but he certainly could have used another year or more at Arizona. The front court for the Wildcats is stacked, so Jerrett got somewhat lost in the equation during the 2012-13 season. Jerrett will have the opportunity to prove his worth in pre-draft workouts, but at this point it’s not looking like Jerrett will hear his name called any earlier than the latter half of the second, if that.
