Denver Nuggets Fire George Karl; Where Will he Coach Next?

Congratulations, Coach Karl! Here’s your trophy for winning NBA Coach of the Year. Oh, and by the way…you’re fired!

That’s exactly what went down on Thursday when the Denver Nuggets fired George Karl on the day the NBA Finals were to begin. Denver finished with 57 wins this year, including a 15-game winnings streak, good enough for the 3rd seed in the Western Conference Playoffs, but got bounced by the Golden State Warriors in the first round.

Although Karl’s teams are always in the playoffs, they typically aren’t around very long once the postseason tournament begins and apparently the Nuggets have had enough of it. But who’s going to just step in and lead them to 57 wins?

On the flip side, Karl has some nice options as the Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies are all looking for coaches. In fact, many NBA minds believe Karl and Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins will simply switch jobs this offseason despite the fact Memphis just completed its best season in franchise history. Hey, it’s the NBA. “This is where amazing happens,” right?

So where do you think he’ll end up? Who will be the Nuggets’ next coach? Comment below and let us know!
