Game 5 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals brought more of the drama that’s made this NHL postseason memorable and the events that shook the emotions of the hockey world on Saturday night now set up an intriguing Game 6 in Boston that should get chippy to say the least.
Patrice Bergeron‘s “undisclosed” injury won’t keep him out on Monday night according to some while others say there’s no way he can play with it. Since we don’t know what it is, it’s hard to speculate.
On the flip side, the Bruins won’t be without two players as Johnny Boychuk will not be suspended for his brutal hit that knocked Jonathan Toews out of the third period of Game 6. Luckily for the Chicago Blackhawks, it’s looking like Toews will play as well, so there will be some wincing on the ice Monday night.
As for the game itself, the Boston Bruins are still looking to get back to their bruising defensive ways as the Blackhawks’ incredible offensive attack has been outstanding in the past two games. However, don’t expect the Bruins to just lay down and accept defeat in an elimination game at home. With Toews hurting, Boston could be fired up for a chance to force Game 7, especially if Bergeron is ready to go. Needless to say, all eyes will be glued to the game as this incredible lockout-shortened hockey season nears an end.
