With the seocnd pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic select Victor Oladipo.

Age: 21

Height: 6-foot-5

Position: Shooting Guard

School/Country: Indiana

About the Prospect: Indiana shooting guard Victor Oladipo has always been known for his athleticism and energy, but this past season is when he really burst onto the scene. Oladipo took his game and his NBA Draft stock to the next level as a junior and in turn, his future at the professional level has been attracting tons of interest. Oladipo can shoot from the outside, but he’s more of a slasher and is biggest strength is his ability to get out an run and excel in a transitional, up-tempo game.

About His Impact on Team: No one in college basketball worked harder than Oladipo did in 2013 and now the athletic shooting guard can help bring the Magic back to the top. Orlando has been deprived of a top-notch scorer since Dwight Howard left town, but this pick could make the Magic forget all about DH12. Oladipo is the most selfless player in this year’s draft, yet it’s his turnover total that the Magic are going to have to keep an eye on. Watch for Oladipo to shine in his rookie year, yet the lack of talent in Orlando could keep the rookie’s progress at a standstill. For now, the Magic are glad that Oladipo is on the roster and can’t wait for him to shine in the coming seasons.
