It’s only day one of 2013 NBA Free Agency, but big names are starting to fly off of the board and Paul Millsap is a free agent that should garner a lot of cash this offseason. The Utah Jazz standout is someone that could change the dynamic of any team, so here are a couple of possible landing spots for Millsap.
For example, a team like the Philadelphia 76ers could snag a stable guy like Millsap knowing that they need a scoring presence in the post. Not to mention, the 76ers will be without Jrue Holliday who brought a lot of scoring to the City of Brotherly Love.
From a pretender to a contender, the Indiana Pacers are a team that definitely could bring Millsap to town. Now, this move isn’t even worth talking about if in fact David West resigns with the club, yet Indy is probably better off with Millsap anyway. Both are gritty power forwards who have the ability to mix it up on both the offensive and defensive ends. If the Pacers are serious about attaining an NBA title in the near future, young guys like Millsap should be targeted.
Although the Boston Celtics are starting from scratch, the rebuilding franchise could easily make a push for No. 24 this July. With Kevin Garnett out of town and no scoring threats in the post, Boston would be doing itself a favor by reeling in a big fish like Millsap.
For now, Rajon Rondo sits idly by in hopes that the Cs make the right move and give him someone to dish the rock to.
