Pouncey Brothers Wear “Free Hernandez” Gear; How Stupid Can You Get?
Leave it to a pair of offensive linemen to spark the “NFL players are stupid” conversation once again.
If you haven’t heard by now, Aaron Hernandez has been charged with first-degree murder and despite being an All-Pro for the New England Patriots in 2011 he will likely never see the light of day again. With that being said, Hernandez has made a lot of friends along the way to stardom and two of them happen to be brothers — Mike Pouncey and Maurkice Pouncey both played their college football with the Florida Gators where they spend many a nights with Hernandez.
With Hernandez currently locked up and the Pounceys out celebrating their 24th birthday party, the dynamic duo figured it would pay homage to its ex-teammate and sport hats saying “Free Hernandez.” Really? Free a guy who is on the hook for killing Odin Lloyd and has been involved in a drive-by shooting and reportedly shot another man’s eye off?
Sounds like a great plan, Pounceys.
This incident is more about NFL players thinking that because of their large salaries that they’re larger than life and can post whatever they’d like to on social media. Rather than seeing the possible consequences of wearing such an idiotic cap, the brothers likely saw an opportunity to be funny and different. No dice.
At the same time, the two did apologize for wearing the hats and Maurkice Pouncey of the Pittsburgh Steelers admitted even said “I regret that my actions appear to make light of that serious situation.”
Sure you do, Mike, I mean Maurkice.
