Make sure you’re sitting down: Percy Harvin is as injury prone as they come and he’s reportedly hurt once again.
The Seattle Seahawks haven’t been in camp for 48 hours and their top-notch free agent signing is already apparently suffering from a bad right hip. In fact, the injury has the possibility of being a labrum tear which would sideline Harvin for the entirety of the 2013 NFL season. When the Minnesota Vikings first dealt Harvin they knew he had a knack for missing games, but this is more severe than the migraine issues that have plagued him for quite some time.
With that being said, Harvin has yet to get a second opinion, so maybe the hip injury is more tame than we’ve all expected. Either way, the folks in Seattle are sweating bullets as they don’t want to enter the season with Doug Baldwin as their No. 1 wide receiver. The whole point of bringing a play maker like Harvin was to give Russell Wilson more options down field, yet the Seahawks might have to go right back to the drawing board.
Who do you think was happier when this news broke: the Vikings or the San Francisco 49ers?
The Vikes got a nice package for Harvin from Seattle — first-round pick in 2013 (No. 25 overall — Xavier Rhodes), a seventh-round pick in 2013, and a third-round pick in 2014. However, Patrick Willis and the 49ers have to be excited about possibly not having to line up against Harvin at least twice this season.
