2013 Fantasy Football Profile: Andre Brown Could Play Big Role

NameAndre Brown

TeamNew York Giants

Position: Running Back

Years Pro: 3

Draft Stock: (Dropping) David Wilson is the Giants’ breakout candidate for many fantasy owners this year, so New York’s second-string running back isn’t getting much love. With that being said, Brown seems to have a nose for the endzone which is all you want as a fantasy football owner.

2012 fantasy impact: When Ahmad Bradshaw went down in Week 2 of 2012, Brown came through in the clutch with 184 yards and three touchdowns in just two games. While it may not seem like it: Brown rushed for eight touchdowns last NFL season which led the Giants. You can say Brown had a Brandon Jacobs-like impact on the G-men last year.

Best-case scenario: Brown is a sure-handed runner in the redzone who breaks out with double-digit touchdowns in 2013. As a great change-of-pace guy, Brown performs just as well as Wilson with an edge in TDs.

Worst-case scenario: Wilson steals the spotlight and becomes the best Giants running back since Tiki Barber. Brown is pushed to the sidelines for most of the season to watch Wilson emerge.

Where you should draft him: Brown is a surefire eighth round pick, but if Wilson goes down for whatever reason in camp then Brown’s immediately a fifth-round pick or better.
