Name: Cordarrelle Patterson
Team: Minnesota Vikings
Position: Wide Receiver
Years Pro: Rookie
Draft stock: (Rising) Adrian Peterson still dominates the talk in Vikings training camp, but Patterson is starting to get some notoriety as well. In fact, Patterson has been going as early as the 12th round in some mock drafts, so keep a close eye on this rookie’s draft stock as we inch closer to opening day.
2012 fantasy impact: Patterson spent 2012 in Knoxville, Tennessee where he played his one and only season for the Tennessee Volunteers. While his stint with the Vols may have been a short-lived one, Patterson still managed to etch his name in the school’s record books with a program-leading 1,858 all-purpose yards last fall.
Best-case scenario: Greg Jennings commands a double-team and Patterson is left open on a weekly basis. Christian Ponder finds Patterson when it matters most and the rookie earns a No. 1 wide receiver spot before the season even comes to a close in Minnesota.
Worst-case scenario: Patterson is unable to adapt to the NFL game and the Vikings grow frustrated with his inability to consistently get open. Minnesota instead relies on second-year player Jarius Wright instead.
Where you should draft him: Drafting Peterson prior to the 11th round would be eager to say the least, but is he’s available in the 13th round then you have to pounce on him.
