2013 Fantasy Football Profile: Mohamed Sanu The Real Deal For Bengals
Name: Mohamed Sanu
Team: Cincinnati Bengals
Position: Wide Receiver
Years Pro: 1
Draft stock: (Stagnant) A.J. Green is reportedly ailing from a sore knee and is unlikely to play in the Bengals’ preseason opener. Therefore, Sanu is getting labeled as a possible breakout candidate by many NFL pundits. However, some fantasy football owners are still sour about drafting Sanu at all in 2012.
2012 fantasy impact: Sanu somehow caught four touchdowns in 2012, but he was hardly productive for Cincinnati in his rookie season. In fact, he lost the starting job in training camp to a couple of nobodies – Andrew Hawkins or Armon Binns — last season. Lastly, Sanu suffered a stress fracture in Week 13 which would end his season.
Best-case scenario: The Bengals find Sanu early and often and his so-so rookie year is followed up by a sophomore season full of productivity.
Worst-case scenario: Green’s injury isn’t serious and Cincinnati relies so heavily on him that Sanu remains on the sideline. Sanu has quickly played himself out of favor with the Bengals.
Where you should draft him: I wouldn’t take a chance on Sanu this season. He hasn’t done much to impress me, but if you like what you’ve seen that go ahead and draft him in the 15th round or so.
