Shabazz Muhammad Kicked Out of Rookie Camp, Shows Why Many Teams Passed on Him

Well, it didn’t take long for the character concerns surrounding Shabazz Muhammad to become justified as the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ first-round draft pick was kicked out of the NBA‘s Rookie Transition Program on Wednesday for misconduct. Let’s put it this way: The problem with fast women for pro athletes started early for Shabazz.

Bringing ladies back to the hotel room is against the rules for NBA rookies in the program but that’s exactly what Muhammad did and the league didn’t hesitate to dismiss him. Now it’s easy to see why many teams passed on Shabazz early in the 2013 NBA Draft.

C’mon, Shabazz — could you not wait just a little longer until the program was over before you started sleeping with every girl who threw herself at you because you’re now a millionaire? Patience is a virtue, man!

Almost every NBA scout will tell you Muhammad had the most potential of every player in this year’s draft but most teams were willing to take the risk. This rookie mistake certainly isn’t enough to classify Shabazz as a bust — he hasn’t even played in a preseason game yet — but it will definitely justify the hesitance shown by the teams who passed on him.
