2013 Fantasy Football Profile: Mason Crosby Still Worthy Of a Draft Pick?

Name: Mason Crosby

Team: Green Bay Packers

Position: Kicker

Years Pro: 6

Draft stock: (Dropping) It’s hard to believe that this Crosby character is the same guy who nailed home a league-leading 68 extra-point field goals in 2011. Now, the Green Bay kicker is the butt of jokes across the NFL and is likely to go undrafted in your league. Unless of course you have an avid Packers fan in your draft party.

2012 fantasy impact: Crosby was historically awful last season as he attempted 33 field goals and only nailed home 21 of them. Making only 63% of his kicks in 2012, the Packers’ kicker has a ton to improve upon in his seventh NFL season.

Best-case scenario: Green Bay looks like a genius for holding onto Crosby as his big leg comes through for the Packers and rebounds after a dreadful sixth season.

Worst-case scenario: Once again, Crosby is just as pitiful in 2013 as he was last year. However, the Packers get so fed up that they wind up releasing Crosby have way through the season.

Where you should draft him: Drafting a kicker prior to the 15th round is foolish if you ask me. Moreover, Crosby should be taken around the 15th round as your starting kicker.
