2013 Fantasy Football Profile: Vincent Brown Poised For Breakout Season

Name: Vincent Brown

Team: San Diego Chargers

Position: Wide Receiver

Years Pro: 2

Draft stock: (Rising) With Danario Alexander blowing out his ACL this offseason and Malcolm Floyd aging horribly, Brown has emerged as the go-to fantasy guy in San Diego. Many had big expectations for Brown in 2012, so it’s likely those same fantasy football owners are selecting Floyd once again.

2012 fantasy impact:  Brown missed the entire season after breaking his ankle in the second week of the 2012 preseason, so more owners were burned by Brown than anything. Either way, the wide receivers in San Diego are so incredibly fluky that Brown could only play in 12 NFL games and still lead the team in receiving yards.

Best-case scenario: Playing from behind more often than not, the Chargers are forced to pass a lot and Brown immediately emerges as Philip Rivers’s top target.

Worst-case scenario: The injury bug bites Brown once again as a priceless opportunity slips through his hands. In addition, Keenan Allen performs so well as a rookie that Brown is an afterthought.

Where you should draft him: Believe it or not, Brown is available as late as the 10th round, so if you trust his health then pull the trigger and don’t think twice about it.
