Name: Jordan Cameron
Team: Cleveland Browns
Position: Tight End
Years Pro: 2
Draft stock: (Rising) The Browns won’t be much better in 2013, but their tight end has a chance to be the most improved player in the NFL. Moreover, Cameron has already impressed us all with two touchdowns in this preseason alone, so don’t expect this Cleveland starter to sit on the waiver wire for very long.
2012 fantasy impact: Cameron wasn’t much of a factor for fantasy football owners as he finished his second year with just one touchdown and 226 yards receiving. However, Cameron showed great potential by averaging 3.3 yards after the catch in 2012.
Best-case scenario: Norv Turner‘s new role as the Browns’ offensive coordinator is great for Cameron. Similar to Antonio Gates, Cameron becomes a red-zone monster who is good for at least double-digit touchdowns.
Worst-case scenario: Cleveland’s offense sputters from the beginning and its lack of wide receivers on the outside makes life difficult for Cameron, who will make his living on the inside.
Where you should draft him: I would snag Cameron as early as the 12th round considering his upside, but don’t go into 2013 thinking he will immediately be a fantasy football force.
