Name: Mike Goodson
Team: New York Jets
Position: Running Back
Years Pro: 4
Draft stock: (Dropping) If the Jets weren’t so desperate for some production at the running back position, Goodson wouldn’t even be on an NFL roster. However, New York is sticking out with the former fantasy football difference maker despite Goodson not even showing up to Jets camp yet. If you want Goodson in your league, then you can more than likely have him.
2012 fantasy impact: Goodson was given a great opportunity in his first year with the Oakland Raiders, but a high-ankle sprain ended his run as the Raiders’ featured back. Even still, Goodson was a solid fantasy option when he did play as he finished the season with a fantastic yards per carry average of 6.3 on just 35 carries.
Best-case scenario: First, Goodson actually shows up to training camp and then he beats both Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell out of the starting running back gig in the Big Apple. Finally, the Jets have found an all-purpose back, who can give the team a lift on a weekly basis.
Worst-case scenario: New York cuts ties with Goodson and the four-year pro has his offseason troubles to blame.
Where you should draft him: Drafting Goodson in the first place is a risky move, but if you’re feeling lucking come the rather unimportant 15th round, then go ahead and pull the trigger.
