Josh Gordon Fantasy Football 2013 Profile: Browns’ Sophomore a Perfect Sleeper

Name: Josh Gordon

Team: Cleveland Browns

Related: Rant Sports College Football 2013 Team No. 10: Florida Gators

Position: Wide Receiver

Years Pro: 1

Draft stock: (Dropping) For some reason, fantasy football owners freak whenever they see a player is suspended for a certain amount of time. Naturally, Gordon’s two-game suspension to start the 2013 regular season has NFL fans freaking out for no apparent reason. Just because Gordon’s draft stock is dropping doesn’t mean he’s not a top-notch fantasy prospect.

2012 fantasy impact: Gordon burst onto the scene in 2012 as the former second-round supplemental draft pick led the Browns in yards receiving in 2012. Also, Gordon showed he had a nose for the end zone with five touchdowns. At 6-foot-4, Gordon has been compared to Andre Johnson for quite some time due to his quick feet and uncanny athleticism.

Best-case scenario: Cleveland’s new offense is tailored toward Gordon, who is seen as the second-best wide receiver in the entire AFC North. Norv Turner‘s reign as the Browns’ offensive coordinator starts with Gordon having a wonderful season.

Worst-case scenario: Due to his suspension, Gordon starts the season behind the eight ball and isn’t able to find a rhythm in his second season. Cleveland is once again unable to find stability on the offensive side of the ball.

Where you should draft him: A few bold fantasy football owners are drafting Gordon as early as the ninth round, but that’s rather eager if you ask me — wait a few rounds and Gordon will still be there.
