Name: Lamar Miller
Team: Miami Dolphins
Position: Running Back
Years Pro: 1
Draft stock: (Rising) Since running back is the most important position in fantasy football, every-down starters like Miller are prized possessions. With that being said, the Dolphins are totally committed to the second-year back after he rushed the ball a mere 51 times in 2012. I understand that the ‘Phins are all in with Miller, but who’s to say that he doesn’t flop in his second year?
2012 fantasy impact: Miller took a back seat to Reggie Bush last season, but did shine in a limited role. A straight-line runner, Miller doesn’t like to mix it up between the tackles too often. A former fourth-round pick, Miller excelled at the big play, but was labeled as an inconsistent runner in 2012.
Best-case scenario: Miami lucks out with Miller as the second-year speedster latches onto his first ever starting gig. Nearly 1,000 yards rushing later and the “Phins have found the next best thing in fantasy football.
Worst-case scenario: Despite an opening day starting spot, Miller fails to solidify himself and injuries play a role in his demise. Fantasy owners soon learn that Miller isn’t someone to be trusted.
Where you should draft him: With literally zero proven running backs in Miami, a second-year player like Miller is understandably fascinating. While Miller could be a steal in the 6th round, a dreadful Miami offensive line might sway you away from No. 26.
