Rant Sports College Football Team No. 7: Louisville Cardinals

TeamLouisville Cardinals

Rant Sports College Football Rank: No. 7

Strength: Teddy Bridgewater is the best thing to happen to Cardinals football in quite some time. Louisville’s passing game has been revamped under Bridgewater as he tossed 27 touchdowns as a sophomore last year and excelled when it matters most. For instance, many Cardinals fans turn to the 2012 Sugar Bowl when Bridgewater was knocked pretty hard early on, but rebounded and led Louisville to an impressive 33-23 victory.

Weakness: I really wish that the Cards played in a better conference than the AAC. Without stout competition on a week-to-week basis, Louisville will easily fall out of favor with the college football media which isn’t good for Bridgewater’s Heisman hopes. Believe it or not, the Cardinals have such a soft schedule that they could rattle off an undefeated season and still not play in the BCS National Championship game.

Player with most to prove: Michael Dyer is coming over from the Auburn Tigers as a troubled running back, who has the ability to be the best running back in the entire AAC. Either, the jury is still out on Dyer as the talented running back was nothing but trouble off of the field for Auburn.

Projected 2013 regular season record: 12-0
