Name: Ryan Tannehill
Team: Miami Dolphins
Years Pro: 1
Draft stock: (Stagnant) The Dolphins didn’t hold back this offseason as they shelled out a ton of cash to multiple free agents and Mike Wallace was the biggest name. Fantasy football owners are getting excited about what Tannehill is bound to do with an offensive weapon like Wallace lining up alongside him. In addition, Miami has hinted at Tannehill running more dual-threat sets, which could mean more rushing touchdowns for this second-year quarterback.
2012 fantasy impact: Tannehill wasn’t incredibly productive for the ‘Phins in his rookie season as he only went over the 300 passing yards mark just once. However, Tanny showed flashes of greatness by finishing the 2012 campaign with 3,294 passing yards. In addition, the rookie was nimble on his feet and finished the year with 214 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Best-case scenario: Miami emerges as everyone’s favorite offense and Tannehill is the mastermind behind it all. With Wallace now on the outside, Dolphins fans grow accustomed to the Tannehill going for over 300 yards on a weekly basis.
Worst-case scenario: A sophomore slump ensues for Tannehill, who is a victim of a pitiful offensive line in Miami. In fact, poor play up front lands Tanny on the sideline due to multiple concussions.
Where you should draft him: At this point, Tannehill is still at least a year away from being a top-notch fantasy football option. Thus, look for the Dolphins quarterback somewhere around the 14th round.
