Landon Donovan Reportedly Back With LA Galaxy; 2014 World Cup The Big Goal

Many soccer nuts are only MLS fans because of Landon Donovan. While it may seem far-fetched, Donovan has done so much for the game and is returning to the league that made him famous. MLS fans can rejoice as the LA Galaxy reportedly agreed to a long-term deal with Donovan, which should keep him in Hollywood for the rest of his career.

Now, this move isn’t as cut-and-dry as you’d think.

Donovan said multiple times this offseason that he wasn’t against the idea of playing in the English Premier League or overseas in general, but I guess that was just a bargaining tactic to get more money from the Galaxy. The dollar signs have not yet been brought to the forefront when it comes to Donovan’s shiny new deal.

One thing is for certain; MLS fans are guaranteed to see both Donovan and Clint Dempsey dazzle in the MLS before the USMNT shoves off to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. Dempsey can learn from Donovan as the ladder has won five MLS titles and did so with the utmost class. Now that Donovan is locked in with the Galaxy, he can focus on providing top-notch leadership, and hopefully he can captain the USA World Cup team to victory as well.
