Name: Matt Flynn
Team: Oakland Raiders
Years Pro: 5
Draft stock: (Dropping) Apparently, Flynn is suffering from a serious case of arm soreness, which has opened the door for journeyman Terrelle Pryor to take the Raiders’ starting quarterback job. So much for Flynn and Denarius Moore exploding in Oakland…now we have to wait until Flynn gets healthy — if that ever happens.
2012 fantasy impact: Once again, Flynn was forced into a back-up role as Russell Wilson stole the show and the Seattle Seahawks quickly regretted the day they dealt for Flynn. However, at least one team — the Raiders — thought that Flynn had something left as they traded for him and pegged him to be their opening day starter prior to his injury.
Best-case scenario: Pryor fails as the signal-caller in Oakland, which paves the way for Flynn to get a shot. Making the most of an awful offensive line, Flynn makes it through the season without a trip to the emergency room.
Worst-case scenario: Flynn doesn’t start a single game in 2013 as Pryor’s rushing ability makes him a far more interesting quarterback than the always boring Flynn.
Where you should draft him: Please — don’t even bother drafting Flynn this year. Oakland’s best offensive lineman is gone for at least 10 weeks, which means that Flynn will have his head on a swivel even if he gets the starting nod.
