Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic Cruising at U.S. Open

Major tennis tournaments are pretty much the only thing in sports that rivals March Madness. There are always a ton of upsets, which makes everyone skeptical of the top seeds, especially when they dominate early on. But with the way Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic are cruising through this year’s U.S. Open, it’s hard to bet against them at this point.

So far, we’ve seen heavyweights like Roger Federer go down as well as Cinderella stories like Victoria Duval. Even Serena’s famous sister, Venus Williams, was knocked out relatively earl. That leads even the most confident fans to question whether Serena and Novak are sure bets.

But then again, looking at Serena’s 6-0, 6-0 shutout of 18th-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro, she’s pretty much a shoo-in to win this thing. Djokovic has been dominant to this point as well, but Rafael Nadal is still alive in the tournament, so his path to the title could potentially be bumpier than Serena’s. Needless to say, the last few rounds of the U.S. Open are going to be epic.
