Pablo Sandoval’s 3 Home Runs Remind San Francisco Giants of Team’s Potential
The San Francisco Giants have been extremely disappointing in 2013, to put it lightly. However, San Francisco’s star players keep reminding everyone why they’re the defending World Series champs just often enough to keep a few folks believing in the unthinkable. The Giants’ incredible win over the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night was one of those times.
Things couldn’t have gotten much better for Pablo Sandoval, who hit three of the Giants’ six home runs in the contest, which made San Francisco fans remember the last time their third baseman accomplished that feat: in Game 1 of the World Series last year.
Of course, that’s a distant memory now that the Giants are 21 games behind the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers with virtually no shot at a Wild Card spot. But the few bright spots in this season, like Sandoval’s big night, remind the folks in San Fran that any year could be the year and 2014 is right around the corner.
