Alabama vs. Texas A&M: Previewing Titanic Clash of New SEC Rivals

They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but it will be a toasty 97 degrees when the Alabama Crimson Tide runs out onto Kyle Field to avenge last year’s loss to Texas A&M. And if this year’s matchup between these new SEC rivals turns out to be anything like the last, things are going to get even hotter.

Johnny Manziel was already garnering lots of attention last year, but the Aggies’ epic win over the Tide was the real coming out party for Johnny Football. So now that he has a Heisman Trophy and over a dozen questionable off-the-field instances added to his resume, how will Manziel fare against the two-time defending champs?

There are a few critical things many folks are forgetting about this upcoming titanic clash. For one, Alabama still has its superstar quarterback as well and he’s primed for his own Heisman campaign. In addition, the Aggies are starting an alarming number of true freshmen this year, so these players will undoubtedly have butterflies before this big game after blowout wins over Rice and Sam Houston State.

Then again, Aggies first-year receiver Ricky Seals-Jones already looks like a stud, so he could be in for a big game against Alabama if he can get past the nerves. But the Tide will rely on stars like T.J. Yeldon, who already have rings. Give me experience and the points: Alabama by at least a touchdown.
