Rory McIlroy Shoots Embarrassing 78 in BMW Championship

Rory McIlroy‘s career hasn’t exactly been a smooth ride.

The ultra-talented golfer took the sporting world by storm in 2012 as he did things at 23 years old that most golfers don’t accomplish in their lifetime! However, as good as McIlroy was in 2012, he has been just as bad in 2013. Without a single tournament win this season, McIlroy looked to end his cold streak in the 2013 BMW Championship, which is an event that he won last year.

Judging by McIlroy’s first round of play, he would be the luckiest man on earth to repeat as champion.

After just one round, Rory finds himself in 66th place after shooting an awful seven over par. Who would have thought that an established guy like McIlroy would find himself fighting to just make the cut? It’s certainly been a year to forget for this disgruntled athlete, yet a still youthful McIlroy has some time to regain his once dominant form.

In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Rory somehow overcomes this awful 2013 campaign and comes out firing in the next big event of the PGA season. With that being said, it’s hard for anyone to buy into McIlroy as of now because he has been playing such poor golf as of late.
