NFL Game of the Week: Dolphins vs. Saints

If you told me at the beginning of the season that the best game of NFL Week 4 was going to be the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, I would have pointed and laughed at you. But now the joke’s on me because we have two undefeated teams squaring off in the league’s marquee primetime contest, and for good reason.

The Dolphins clobbered the Cleveland Browns and then surprised the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons to start the season 3-0 thanks to an underrated defense and a maturing young quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. After the surprisingly hot start, Miami now must prove its more than just a flash in the pan in a home game under the spotlight of Monday Night Football.

On the flip side, the Saints have won in every way possible this year, despite their statistically woeful defense. Drew Brees is doing his thing and the Saints are putting up points, for the most part, which makes this contest against Miami interesting considering neither team really knows what to expect from the other.

The common prediction for this primetime showdown is a shootout, but if the Dolphins are to win, they’ll have to do it by controlling the pace of the game and that comes with running the ball. Expect an ugly tug-of-war contest on Monday night and a Miami victory. Hey, stranger things have happened, right?
