The Northwestern Wildcats just can’t seem to win games that they should. This time, it’s the Ohio State Buckeyes who left Ryan Field with a win after the hometown team once again choked away what would have been a big-time victory. It’s obvious that Pat Fitzgerald‘s club is back to its old ways as Ohio State rattled off 27 second-half points.
Carlos Hyde was dominant in this game as Northwestern’s tired defense just didn’t have an answer for the bruising running back toward the end of the game.
Now, many narrow-minded Wildcats fans will point to the supposed “bad call” made on the fourth down attempt late in Saturday’s Game by Northwestern quarterback Kain Colter, but this game is hardly the referees fault. It’s the same old song and dance of the Wildcats not finishing.
Thankfully, this two teams will be playing each other again this season — barring something wild — as the Buckeyes currently lead the Leaders division in the Big 10, while the Wildcats are likely to come out of the Legends division.
Let’s see if the Wildcats can get revenge in the first week of December.
