Alshon Jeffery Becomes a Fantasy Stud in Week 5
If you’re looking for a future stud to acquire in fantasy football, look no further than Chicago Bears second-year receiver Alshon Jeffery. The former South Carolina standout now has consecutive 100-yard games on the season, but his latest means he’s now among the elite players in fantasy land and likely will be for years to come.
In an eight-point loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 5, Jeffery hauled in 10 catches for 218 yards and a touchdown, meaning he put up almost 30 points in standard fantasy leagues and much more than that in special-scoring and PPR leagues. In addition, his 218 receiving yards broke a Bears single-game record, which means he’s now the new favorite deep threat of Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler.
That was proven again in the box score because Brandon Marshall was only targeted five times in the game as opposed to Jeffery’s 13, which means the younger player is now ready to put up 100 yards and a touchdown in most games as he’s done in the past two. Again, if you’re looking for a new stud to acquire in fantasy football, Jeffery is a solid option.
