Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Michael Vick is hurt. The Philadelphia Eagles‘ fragile signal-caller left his team’s second win of the season with a hamstring injury and now it looks like he’ll miss at least Philly’s Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Put simply, that ain’t good.
Vick has been on the sidelines almost as much as he’s been on the field throughout his injury-riddled and prison-plagued career, but he’s always seemed to find a job because of the grace of God it seems. However, this time might do a number on his tenure in Philly.
When Vick left the game on Sunday, Nick Foles threw for almost 200 yards and two touchdowns, showing he’s not forgotten how to play quarterback. If he plays well against Tampa Bay in Week 6 and leads the Eagles to just their third win of the season, then Chip Kelly will have a hard time convincing Philly fans that Vick should be back under center in Week 7. And considering he’s in the final year of his restructured contract, that could mean the end of Vick in an Eagles uniform.
