Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals dominated the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday night to advance to the NLCS for the third straight year. And if this series between St. Louis and Los Angeles is anything like the last few playoff series have been this year, we’re in for a treat.

During their respective NLDS, both teams displayed dominant play at the plate and on the mound, so when these two teams butt heads, you can bet that sparks will fly. Imagine a game with 20 combined runs between the two teams or a 1-0 pitchers’ duel with two complete games by stud aces. We could very easily see both and everything in between when these two historic clubs square off for a chance to play in the World Series.

And as exciting as the matchup is on paper, we haven’t even mentioned this gigantic baseball personalities that will certainly dominate camera views in between pitches. Don’t forget that polarizing players like Yasiel Puig and David Freese are both playing in this series and they are sure to do something that will make this series even more memorable than it already will be because of the play on the diamond. In short, hold on to your hats, baseball fans, because this series is going to be a classic seven-game duel.
