Aldon Smith's 3 Felony Weapons Charges Should Mean End of His NFL Career

After a breakout sophomore season that pushed him into the public conscious, it seems that San Francisco 49ers linebacking ham Aldon Smith just can’t get enough of the spotlight! After earning national attention with last year’s 19.5 sacks, this season Smith has found himself trying to make front-page headlines anyway he can.

Only a few weeks ago, Smith left the team to ‘allegedly’ receive treatment for alcohol abuse – when we all know he was really there to make tabloid fodder with Lindsay Lohan. And on Wednesday, Smith was charged with three felony counts of illegal possession of an assault weapon; which to me, just sounds like Aldon’s attempt to be the newest pitchman for Grand Theft Auto.

If convicted on the charges of his most recent ‘publicity stunt’, Smith could face up to four years and four months in jail. So the only attention he’ll be getting from now on is that of his cellmates.
