Utah Ruins Stanford's Perfect Season, Shot At a BCS Championship Game

The Stanford Cardinal will not be playing in the 2014 BCS Championship Game and the Utah Utes are to only ones to blame.

Utah defended its home field on Saturday as the Cardinal were promptly sent back to Palo Alto, California with a big fat loss. Now, this is uncharted waters for David Shaw‘s bunch as Stanford had won 13 straight games before dropping Saturday’s game against the Utes. It’s hard to think that Stanford will miss out on another BCS Title game considering it was in the hunt as the fifth-ranked team in the country.

However, the Cardinal will have to settle with yet another Bowl Game and might even not make it to the Rose Bowl this year with the UCLA Bruins making a surprising run to the top of the Pac 12 and the Oregon Ducks almost a lock to play in the BCS Championship Game. For Stanford, it’s another case of the Cardinal disappointing in a way that only the Cardinal can.
