Many MLB fans have grown infatuated with the younger stars of the game as Yasiel Puig, Sonny Gray and even Michael Wacha have all found a way to dazzle this postseason. With that being said, this year’s NLCS will be decided by one player from each team, who has been there and done that in terms of October baseball.
For starters, I have been calling Carlos Beltran “Mr. October 2.0” since the playoffs began and it’s because of how effective he has been when it matters most. In fact, Beltran has worked his way into MLB’s record books with more postseason home runs than Babe Ruth — the sultan of swat himself! The St. Louis Cardinals can expect a big series from Beltran in this series.
However, the Los Angeles Dodgers counter with a wily veteran of their own in Juan Uribe. His eighth-inning blast in Game 4 of the NLDS landed the Dodgers in the NLCS in the first place, but the fun won’t stop there for Uribe and LA. At the end of the day; the two World Series Championships aren’t on Uribe’s resume by accident.
Stay tuned to see what this duo of postseason legends has up its sleeve.
