NFL Game of the Week: Broncos at Colts
This Sunday night the Denver Broncos will be heading to Lucas Oil Stadium as Peyton Manning makes his first return to the house that he helped build, but this time, he’s looking to tear that sucker down. The 6-0 Broncos will be matching up against Manning’s replacement, Andrew Luck, and his upstart Indianapolis Colts team in one of the most anticipated regular season games in years.
With two quarterbacks that have been the talk of the town all season long, this matchup of Manning and Manning 2.0 seems to have a little something for everyone. The Broncos are absolutely loaded on the offensive side of the ball, notching the top scoring offense in the league and averaging an unheard of 42 points per game. The Colts, on the other hand, are fielding a top-five scoring defense and a precocious quarterback whose propensity for late-game heroics is soon to earn him the nickname Kid Clutch.
And if you actually needed more reasons to tune into Sunday night’s game, Colts owner/Ed Hardy enthusiast Jim Isray just added a whole lot of fuel to the fire with his distasteful comments about Peyton Manning earlier this week. While Manning has remained mum in regards to Isray’s remarks, he has already been on an absolute tear this season and I fully expect him to use this extra motivation to post a statement game in the city where it all started.
And as Isray the Colts are about to find out: you won’t like Manning when he’s angry.
