Stanford Clips UCLA, But Cardinal Still Have A Lot Of Work To Do In Pac-12

After a tough loss to the Utah Utes in Week 7, the Stanford Cardinal were left for dead by most College Football experts. However, Stanford responded in a big way in Week 8 as the Cardinal returned to the win column with a big win over Pac-12 rival UCLA Bruins. Surprisingly, the Cardinal went into this game as “underdogs” as the Bruins were riding a five-game hot streak in 2013.

However, I don’t think many college football fans had the audacity to pick the 9th-ranked Bruins to uproot Stanford on the road. Even still, UCLA gave Stanford all it could handle, yet the rushing attack of the Cardinal came out on the top as Tyler Gaffney had a career day. The senior running back dashed for 171 rush yards and a touchdown as the Bruins were handed their first loss of the season.

Now, the folks in Palo Alto, California are understandably excited about this Cardinal team, but keep in mind that Stanford’s biggest game has yet to be played. On November 7th, the Oregon Ducks head down south to face Stanford in what will be the best Thursday night game of the college football season — it’s here when we will see just what the 6-1 Cardinal are made of.
