Not only did all three of these teams lose, each also lost their starting quarterback to injury as well. Jay Cutler is no stranger to being sacked and despite an improved Bears’ offensive line, No. 6 limped to the locker room in the second quarter with a groin injury and wouldn’t return. Thankfully, Chicago back-up Josh McCown did his job and nearly led the Bears to a come-from-behind victory.
The Eagles lost a huge divisional game to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8, and the quarterback situation in Philadelphia is getting worse by the day. Michael Vick is out with a hamstring injury, while Nick Foles couldn’t last four quarters on Sunday as he suffered a head injury and was yanked prematurely.
Lastly, Sam Bradford of the Rams may have torn the ACL in his left knee. The fourth-year quarterback was supposed to make tremendous strides in 2013, but that’s obviously not going to happen if he’s forced to miss the rest of the year. Hopefully the reports of a torn ACL will be proved false in the coming days.
At the end of the day; all three of these NFL teams are wishing that Week 8 never happened.
