Andrew Luck Shows More Poise Than Peyton Manning; Colts Nip Broncos
The Indianapolis Colts were supposed to crack under pressure, as the thought of Peyton Manning was bound to shake 24-year-old Andrew Luck like a leaf on a tree — right?
Unfortunately for Denver Broncos fans, that things didn’t exactly pan out that way for John Fox‘s team. Instead, it was Luck who came across as the more poised quarterback, while Manning turned the ball over twice and left Indy with the first loss of his 2013 regular season. Sunday night’s game was easily the most hyped contest of the year, so it was strange to see a veteran and Super Bowl-winner like Manning let the big moment get the best of him.
Moreover, the Colts’ defense deserves a ton of credit as this group came ready to play and did something that previous teams hadn’t been able to do against the Broncos — get to the passer.
At the end of the day; Denver showed us that it can be beat, while Luck proved yet again that he’s hardly a prototypical second-year player.
